Hi - I'm on chalk and I had a cunning plan to grow a clematis over my Viburnum mariesii to give some interest after it had flowered. But I chose Royal Velours and you can't see the red flowers against the foliage of virtually the same colour. So I'm looking for a pink. Do you think Comtesse de Bouchard would do well? Maybe something else better? Thanks, Elaine
Hi Elaine, yes comtess de Bouchard or hagley hybrid would work fine as all our plants are 2 years old in 2 litre pots and fully hardy, it means that they are fully mature and can be planted at anytime of year, so the sooner they go in the better they will perform this same season.
Hope this helps
