Taylors Clematis :: Clematis Amber

Clematis Amber

Clematis Chiisanensis/Koreana Amber ('Wit141205') is Fantastic as its almost all yellow! it does have some slight pink tomes on the back of the sepals (however these fade away in direct sunlight) Great flowers from early May onwards, great colour and good height at around 8 feet! Winner of RHS Plant of the Year award 2016 at Chelsea Flowershow 2016.

We know that there are not many 'Yellow' clematis in the world, but this one is a winner! Amber is a cracking variety that flowers May/June then comes again for a second flush in September, Nodding amber flowers with a hint of pink on the back are in profusion then great seed heads follow as the flowers finish (so it looks attractive even when its not in flower!)

Amber is fine planted in any aspect, and will grow just as well in a pot or a planter as it will in a garden situation. Reaching heights of 6-8 feet it's a very 'manageable height too', lending itself to trellis, obelisks, iron works, arches, seating areas... the list is endless. And to top it all off, there is No Pruning required ! (how easy is that?)

As we had the privilege of launching Amber for the Breeder Marco de Wit hence the ('Wit141205') at Chelsea Flower show, we are currently the only grower in the world to have it for sale. The price has not gone up either, Amber was £15 at the 'start of the year' and is still £15 even now it is 'Plant of the Year' scroll down through the detailed pictures to see me being awarded the plant of the year awards and crystal vase by the President of the RHS (Sir Nicholas Bacon, 14th Baronet)

Clematis Amber has been written about in many garden magazines and shown on TV many times, all the presenters are raving about it! this is what the RHS have to say about it :-

Autumn is a good time to plant, as it lets the roots establish over winter and helps a great flush the following season. All our plants are sent out fully hardy and mature. This makes them plantable all year round.
