Tall clematis

Hello! I would like to grow a clematis up into my birch tree. The knotted fishing line is already in place on the south facing side. Ideally i would like to grow it in pot. Can you please recommend a variety that might be suitable. I can send a photograph is that would help. Thank you.

Hi I would probably go for our viticella types as they are about the tallest ones that will still grow from a pot, they can be grown in any aspect and are great at climbing so all in all the best ones really. They are available in many different colours and are mostly available now for planting now.
as all our plants are 2 years old in 2 litre pots and fully hardy, it means that they are fully mature and can be planted at anytime of year, so the sooner they go in the better they will perform this same season.
