I am trying to cover a north facing wall.
I believe the Clematis Arctic Queen could work but would love some advice.
I will be planting it in a pot and ideally would like a mature plant so I quickly cover the wall prior to this summer. Ideally it would be fragrant as it will be near the door into the garden.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi James, Arctic queen is not fragrant I’m afraid (and also they are not in stock)
if you want a large flowered double form of clematis then have a look at the ones we have on the link below.
All fragrant clematis have very small flowers – so if you want scent then you will also need to plant one of these )see 2nd link below)
in all instances if you choose ones that say ‘Any Aspect’ then they will be fine north facing.
regarding maturity, as all our plants are 2 years old in 2 litre pots and fully hardy, it means that they are fully mature and can be planted at anytime of year, so the sooner they go in the better they will perform this same season.
Hope this helps
