Clematis Armandii

Hi, I’m thinking of planting some Clematis to create some privacy.

Can I plant them now or should I wait until the Spring. ?
My soil is clay on chalk ( Est Sussex ) . Will they be happy in that type of soil ?

Hi, As all our plants are 2 years old and grown in 2 litre pots it makes them fully hardy and mature – so ours can be planted out at anytime of year with no issues and will do well for you this same season if planted out before the end of this month. However clay is not good for clematis as their roots struggle to push through it so you will need to improve the area before planting.
Hope this helps.
