I would like to grow a clematis to climb through very tall wild rhododendrons some way away from the house.
the plant will be planted in a sunny border but will climb in the shade . which should i choose that will be best appreciated from a distance
Hi Ann if they are very tall then I would suggest any of our montana types initially.
I would also maybe put a couple of viticella types in there too in order to extend the flowering period. I have included links to both species below (there are many varieties to choose from within each species but any will do the job)
as all our plants are 2 years old in 2 litre pots and fully hardy, it means that they are fully mature and can be planted at anytime of year, so the sooner they go in the better they will perform this same season.
Hope this helps
