I used to grow a lot of clematis when I lived in Essex. Now living in Grantown-on-Spey Scottish Highlands, so a different type of gardening !! I love double flowering clematis, but our season is short (end of May til mid Sept). Any suggestions? I've got lots of space (third of an acre), some sheltered spots as well. I also want to grow the new "Elodi" in hanging baskets. Will it last from year to year? Thanks for your time.

Hi Margaret, yes we have lots of double clematis that start flowering in may and finish at the end of june/july time, then come again late august September time for another flush. Any of these will be fine for you as all ours are 2 years old and fully hardy when they come out to you.
there are also some double forms of viticella that you can look at that don't actually start flowering until july (if you wish) like 'rosalyn' and mary rose etc
please see link to about 4 full pages of doubles below, you can sub filter by colour and flowering period if you wish
hope this helps
we hope to have another batch of elodi ready in a month or so
